Use the speed slider at the bottom of the screen to adjust scroll speed from 1-100. You can also use keyboard shortcuts: arrow up/down to adjust speed, spacebar to pause/play, and R to reset to the beginning.

Can I change the text size and color?

Yes! Use the font size slider to adjust text size from 28-72px. Click 'Edit Script' to access the script editor where you can choose from 8 different text colors including white, yellow, green, blue, and more.

What is the mirror text feature for?

The mirror text feature flips your script horizontally, which is useful if you're using a physical teleprompter mirror setup. Most users won't need this feature unless they have professional teleprompter hardware.

Can I use Teleprompta for YouTube videos?

Is my script data saved?

Does Teleprompta work offline?

You need an internet connection to initially load Teleprompta, but once loaded, the basic teleprompter features work without internet. Camera recording requires an active connection.

What video format does the recording use?

By default, recordings are saved in WebM format, which offers excellent quality and compression. You can change this to MP4 or AVI in the settings menu based on your preference.

Can I use Teleprompta for presentations?

Is there a limit on script length?

There's no hard limit on script length. You can paste scripts of any size. However, for very long scripts (over 50,000 characters), you may notice slight performance differences depending on your device.

Can I use custom fonts?

Teleprompta offers 8 professional fonts including Inter, Roboto, Open Sans, Lato, Montserrat, Poppins, Courier New, and Georgia. You can select your preferred font in the settings menu.

Your recordings are automatically saved to your computer's Downloads folder when you stop recording. The file is named with a timestamp (e.g., "teleprompta-recording-2024-01-15.webm").

Important: Videos are NOT uploaded to any server - they stay completely private on your device!

Yes! When you enable the camera, Teleprompta also records audio from your microphone. Make sure to:

Allow microphone permissions in your browser
Select the correct microphone in the device picker
Do a test recording to check audio levels

You can adjust scroll speed in two ways:

Using the slider: Find the "Speed" control at the bottom and drag the slider (10-100)
Using keyboard: Press ↑ (up arrow) to increase speed, ↓ (down arrow) to decrease

Yes! Teleprompta has two mirror options:

Mirror Text: Click the ⇄ button or press M to flip text horizontally
Mirror Camera: Enable in Settings to flip your camera feed

Yes! Your script is automatically saved to your browser's local storage. It will be there when you return, even if you close the browser.

Note: Scripts are saved per browser, so if you switch browsers or devices, you'll need to paste your script again.

Yes! Simply:

Open your Word document
Select all text (Ctrl+A or Cmd+A)
Copy it (Ctrl+C or Cmd+C)
Paste into Teleprompta's text area (Ctrl+V or Cmd+V)

The text will maintain basic formatting like line breaks and paragraphs.

There's no limit! You can paste scripts of any length. Teleprompta handles everything from short 30-second scripts to hour-long presentations.

The word and character count is shown in the Edit Script modal to help you track your script length.

Troubleshooting

Try adjusting your text size along with speed. Larger text naturally requires slower scrolling, smaller text works better with faster speeds.

The "sweet spot" for most people is 48px text at speed 35-45.

You must enable the camera first before you can record. Click the camera button (📹) and allow permissions, then the record button will become active.

If you cleared your browser's cache or browsing data, your script may have been deleted. Scripts are stored locally in your browser.

Tip: Keep a backup of important scripts in a Word document or Google Doc!

Yes! Teleprompta works on mobile devices, but the experience is optimized for desktop/laptop screens. Mobile recording may have limitations depending on your device and browser.
